National Recovery Month
September marks National Recovery Month, a time to celebrate the millions of people who have embraced recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. It’s also a moment to raise awareness about the importance of mental health care and the power of community support.
Recovery is a journey—sometimes long, often challenging, but always empowering. National Recovery Month honors the strength, perseverance, and hope of individuals who have overcome their struggles and found a path to wellness. It's also an opportunity for us to remind others that recovery is possible, and no one has to go it alone.
Throughout September, communities across the country come together to share stories, promote resources, and encourage a greater understanding of the recovery process. Whether through local events, educational campaigns, or personal stories, the goal is clear: to reduce stigma and build a supportive environment where recovery can thrive.
If you or someone you know is on the road to recovery, remember: it's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to celebrate every victory, big or small. Together, we can create a culture of hope and healing that supports lasting recovery for all.
