Join us for our upcoming meetings!
The Polk Prevention and Recovery Alliance recently held their first monthly collaboration meeting of the year at One Door Polk in Cedartown, GA. Tommy Baker, the new Program Coordinator, was introduced and led the meeting. The collaboration discussed:
a. Placing Vape Disposal boxes in Cedartown and Rockmart High Schools, which has been approved by The Polk County Board of Education.
b. Setting up tents with information about Alcohol, vaping and prescription use at the Cedartown vs. Rockmart football game.
c. Getting more youth involved in grades 6 - 12 by forming a Teen Action Council (TAC), with the goal to have at least 2 students per grade from both Middle Schools and High Schools.
We’re looking forward to continuing our work in 2025! Our next meeting will be held on February 27th with the location TBD. We would like to encourage anyone from the Polk Community to attend and join the Polk Prevention and Recovery Alliance coalition!
